Half the water, across 224 units.

A 224-unit community in Gardner, MA cut its water use 49% over 11 months with micrometers on toilets and showers. Snapshot: Multifamily · 224 units · 670 tenants · Scope: toilets & showers · Report period: 12 months · Result: 49% less water

The property

A 224-unit affordable housing community in Gardner, Massachusetts, home to 670 tenants, with a local combined water & sewer rate of $12.00 per HCF.

The challenge

The property was using 42,280 gallons a day and paying $90.84 per unit every month for water. The bill showed the total, never the source. Leaks and high-flow fixtures that never trigger an alarm were driving a cost management couldn't see or trace.

The solution

DrizzleX installed its patented micrometers on every toilet and shower across the property. Data is transmitted by LoRa, the same low-energy radio technology that utility meters use. The dashboard flagged leaks and overuse at the unit level, with alerts prioritized by cost so maintenance fixed the most expensive waste first. City water bills then confirmed the results in real dollars.

The results: 11-month report period

‍

Why it matters:

The reduction held across 11 months. Consumption stays down while monitoring stays on, because new leaks keep appearing and DrizzleX keeps catching them.
